Step into the new role of Clearance Merchandiser. You will be part of the Merchandising Ops team delivering Operational Excellence, taking a forward facing, solution based approach to identify risks and opportunities in every task. A focus on efficiencies, process improvement, and collaboration are key attributes needed for success. No two days are the same in the Merch Ops department. This role is a new role within the team, taking ownership of markdown and clearance stock, managing pricing, channel plans and exit routes, and maximising profit with every decision.
What You'll Do- Optimise surplus sale stock through current channels, managing a markdown timeline and identifying exit routes to maximise profitability.
- Seasonal Sale Events - Manage mid and end of season sale events, including item roll ups, reporting, channel planning, and stock builds adhering to targets set.
- Channel Stock Optimisation - Using current and future trading plans, identify the most suitable route for surplus stock across genders, categories, and price points while working toward terminal stock targets.
- Age of Stock - Maintain a critical path for surplus stock, taking into account seasonality and product type.
- Price Management - Manage pricing through the markdown critical path to maximise cash recovery.
- Terminal Stock Process - Develop and maintain a range of exit route options for surplus stock, prioritising profit recovery at every stage.
- Outlet Stock Management - Manage surplus stock (Mainline and Special Purchase) across the Outlet store estate, taking into account store capacities.
- Internal Communication & Relationships - Build and maintain relationships internally with finance, retail, marketing and product teams.
- Next Product Operations - Build and maintain relationships with the Next Production Operations team.
- Future Season Planning - Build recommendations based on clearance stock and feed back to product teams to inform future season planning and reduce repeat stock risk.
- Technical Savvy: Excel or Google Sheets wizard with high commercial acumen. Able to read a spreadsheet and see the story behind the numbers.
- Organisation: Attention to detail, able to prioritise workload and approach tasks with a calm, confident energy.
- Communication: Natural negotiator and presenter, able to influence others while remaining approachable and relatable.
