Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Joinery Workshop Production Manager to oversee the daily operations of our large joinery workshop. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of production including staff supervision, workflow scheduling, quality assurance and health and safety compliance. This role is key to ensuring our bespoke joinery products are manufactured to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise all joinery workshop activities to meet production deadlines and quality standards, co-ordinating with the Working Foremen and along side the Joinery Services Manager.
  • Manage a team of joiners, machinists and apprentices, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance and fostering skill development.
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications ensuring accurate translation into production.
  • Liaise with project managers, working foremen, product engineers and clients to ensure specifications and expectations are met.
  • Maintain workshop best practices for efficiency, strict cleanliness and robust safety.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Manage production schedules and workflows to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure all work meets required standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workshop performance and product quality.
Key Requirements:
  • Proven extensive experience in a similar role within a joinery, carpentry, or woodworking production environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of bespoke joinery processes, materials, tools, and machinery.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Exceptional organisational and time-management.
  • Proficiency in production scheduling and workflow management.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices in a workshop environment.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Bench Joinery or equivalent.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience with CAD or joinery workshop management software.
  • First Aid certification.
