Java Software Engineer

Up to £150,000 Base + Benefits (Up to £250,000 TC)

A well-established quantitative trading firm is hiring a Java Software Engineer to join the team responsible for their proprietary trading and execution platform. The firm operates across algorithmic execution and systematic investing, serving institutional clients globally. This is a hands on engineering role at the heart of a live, high stakes trading system, with real ownership from day one. This position is onsite, in their London office.

What you'll do:

• Own and deliver the roadmap for the firm's core trading and execution platform
• Work directly with execution brokers to improve algorithmic performance, incorporating research feedback and coordinating A/B testing
• Onboard new execution brokers and implement approved execution enhancements
• Build, maintain, and improve Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) reporting
• Contribute to the architectural evolution of the platform alongside a senior engineering team
• Participate in the production support rota

You'll need:

• 4+ years of software development experience, with strong Java skills
• Prior experience in execution systems at a bank, hedge fund, or financial services firm
• Exposure to equities trading or related markets
• Degree in a STEM discipline
