As a Software Developer, you'll be at the heart of a collaborative, multi-functional Scrum team, building and enhancing the tools, platforms and services that power our business. You'll work with modern technologies, contribute to key technical decisions, and have the opportunity to make a real impact on the way we deliver innovative solutions to our users.
What that means day to day- Design, develop, test and maintain high-quality applications across web, mobile and desktop platforms.
- Contribute to architectural and technical decisions, ensuring our systems are robust, scalable and secure.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, QA analysts, DevOps engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into working solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, supporting continuous improvement of our services.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, peer reviews and production releases, driving forward best practice and innovation.
You will excel in this role if you are a strong problem-solver, passionate about high-quality software and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment. You should bring hands-on experience with modern software development practices, cloud platforms and microservices, along with the ability to take initiative in technical discussions and project delivery. Strong communication skills and adaptability will help you succeed in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
Essential requirements:
- Strong experience developing with Java 8+.
- Proficiency with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate.
- Experience in microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (SQL, MySQL, including database triggers).
- Good understanding of modern software architectures (e.g. microservices, event-driven, CQRS).
- Hands-on expertise with AWS services (ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, ECR, S3) and Docker.
- Ability to write and run unit tests (e.g. TDD, JUnit, Mockito).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. GitHub).
- Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in an Agile/Scrum environment.
