An established company specialising in research and advise on Japanese equities are seeking an Equity Report Editor/translation Trainee. The Trainee will work and train every step of the way by shadowing and supporting the directors. Working within a team, the successful applicant will gain exposure to a high-level business environment with responsibility from the start. Native level English with strong communication skills is a must. Excellent Japanese speaking skill is also required. This will be an excellent chance for the right candidate to put their Japanese to effective daily use whilst gaining new skills and receiving on-the-job training.

TYPE: Permanent, full-time

WORKING HOURS: 07.00 - 16.30 from Monday to Friday

SALARY: £27K-30K, plus discretionary bonus

START: ASAP

LOCATION: Burton-upon-Trent, near Derby

Main Responsibilities
  • Edit financial reports to ensure clarity, consistency and accuracy.
  • Format and prepare reports for publishing.
  • Translate financial material from Japanese to English and vice versa, ensuring language sounds natural whilst maintaining accuracy.
Ideal Candidate
  • Strong verbal & written English communication
  • Strong written Japanese skills, preferably above JLPT N2 level
  • Strong grasp of grammar and attention to detail
  • Interested in learning about finance
  • The ability to work cooperatively in a small team & take on responsibility at an early stage
