IT Support Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Support Engineer to join a well-established organisation based in Banbury. This is your chance to become an integral part of a supportive and knowledgeable IT team, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of technology across the business.

What you'll do:

  • You will be at the heart of daily operations, providing essential technical assistance across all areas of the business. Your day will involve responding to support queries via the helpdesk system, ensuring that issues are resolved quickly or escalated appropriately.
  • Respond to IT support tickets using the company's helpdesk system, escalating issues as needed to ensure all service level agreements are consistently met.
  • Administer the project management ticketing system for web-based projects, keeping users informed and assignments up-to-date through clear communication.
  • Provide first-line desktop support for users across the business, including troubleshooting printers and occasionally assisting with basic server issues.
  • Set up new user accounts and disable expired ones in line with HR requirements, maintaining accurate records at all times.
  • Configure new laptops, desktops, and communications equipment following approved process documentation to ensure seamless onboarding for staff.
  • Install authorised software on laptops and desktops while ensuring all devices remain secure and up-to-date with patches and upgrades.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently, explaining solutions clearly to non-technical users to foster understanding and minimise disruption.

What you bring:

  • Experience with Windows Server and Client IT systems within a business environment is essential for this position.
  • Administration of Microsoft Active Directory, Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Office 365 environments, and cloud-based systems is highly desirable.
  • Ideally holds an IT-related degree or has completed an IT apprenticeship; however, candidates willing to learn are encouraged as training is provided.
