What it's like to work here

You'll be part of a collaborative IT Operations environment, working closely with Security Operations and Hosting teams to identify, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities across critical business systems.

Researching emerging threats, you'll play a key role in proactively improving our security posture. You'll engage with teams across the business, helping to protect vital services while minimising disruption.

Additionally, you'll provide key metrics and insights to leadership, helping to align vulnerability management activities with governance frameworks.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing

You'll be using your IT infrastructure skills and understanding of security vulnerabilities to help the Trust stay well-informed about security threats.

Your keen interest in the use of all things tech will be employed to keep abreast of the latest technologies, whether that be infrastructure, cloud hosting, networks or security.

Who we're looking for

Applications from redeployees are assessed against the minimum criteria for the role. In your application, please provide details of how you meet the minimum criteria below:

  • Previous experience of 3rd Line support in an Infrastructure support team
  • Experience of working with Cloud Technologies such as Azure and AWS
  • Experience running a vulnerability management program including scanning, patching and accepting certain vulnerabilities
  • Understanding of 'exposure' vs 'criticality'
  • Knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, Defender, Tenable

Additional criteria for all other applicants:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Must be able to manage internal IT, business and supplier stakeholders.
  • Technical expertise in Hosting Services Both Private & Public Cloud
  • Commitment to self-development and be enthusiastic about acquiring new skills and embracing new technologies
