The BSZ provides IT-supported services for academic libraries, museums and archives, particularly in Baden-Württemberg, Saxony and Saarland. The BSZ folio project, which is funded by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science and the Arts, will initially involve the migration of selected pilot libraries. This will be followed by a state-wide roll-out at the university libraries in Baden-Württemberg.

FOLIO is an open source platform for library management based on a modern, service-oriented architecture. It offers developers and libraries an open environment for innovative extensions and integrations.

You will work in a dedicated team and in close coordination with the department management.

Areas of responsibility

Your tasks

  • Coordination and conception of the adaptations of the open source software required by EUREKA
  • Further development and adaptation of the apps previously developed under the Okapi framework by the German community (in coordination with the FOLIO community)
  • Further development of international open source software, development of apps
Requirements profile

Your profile

  • Completed scientific university degree in computer science or comparable qualification
  • Experience in the administration and configuration of applications
  • Good knowledge of Java, Python or similar languages
  • Good knowledge of databases (preferably in PostgreSQL)
  • Willingness to familiarize yourself with new topics
  • You have experience of working in a team, in an interdisciplinary environment and with external customers and other service providers
  • Very good knowledge of German and English
