Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced,motivated and enthusiastic mental health practitioner and supervisor to workwithin our service and as part of our Integrated Single Point of Access. You will have an ability towork within a team and to work independently. You will demonstrate strongleadership skills and be an organised individual who can work creatively todevelop and support the management with the day-to-day operation of the iSPA.This an excitingopportunity for a qualified and experienced counsellor/therapist hopingto expand their managerial skillset to join Bromley Y.

Weare looking for applicants who are knowledgeable and passionate about Bromley,with 5 years experience of working with children and young people. The post involvesline management and supervision of practitioners, working with colleagues to determineintervention pathways, manage risk and allocations, chairing consultationmeetings and working with the partnership in Bromley as necessary. The successful individual will work withpeople from various cultural backgrounds, ages and ability, using interpreterswhen necessary and should be committed to equity, diversity inclusion andbelonging.

Main duties of the job Thesuccessful post holder will work within the Bromley Integrated Single Point ofAccess (iSPA), delivered in partnership with Bromley CAMHS. The iSPA manages all referrals for childrenand young people with mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties inBromley. Your role within this team willfocus on developing Clinical Practice within the iSPA and deputising for theiSPA managers to provide an efficient and effective service for children andyoung people. This will includeensuring high quality, safe and responsiverisk assessments, screenings and interventions are provided to children, youngpeople, parents/carers and professionals, who are referred to Bromley Y and/or iSPA. This role will provide anopportunity to support the pathway between the iSPA and Bromley Y working collaboratively to ensure thejourney for children, young people and their families (parents/carers) feelseasy for them to understand and navigate.

Job responsibilities 1.ROLEFOCUS:

The post holder will work within the Bromley Integrated Single Point ofAccess (iSPA), delivered in partnership with Bromley CAMHS. The iSPA manages all referrals for childrenand young people with mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties inBromley. Your role within this team willfocus on developing Clinical Practice within the iSPA and deputising for theiSPA managers to provide an efficient and effective service for children andyoung people. This will includeensuring high quality, safe and responsiverisk assessments, screenings and interventions are provided to children, youngpeople, parents/carers and professionals, who are referred to Bromley Y and/oriSPA.

You will also contribute to the development of early intervention andprevention service in Bromley for Children and Young People. The postrepresents an opportunity for a qualified practitioner, with excellentleadership skills, who is committed to the principles of CYP IAPT and iThrive tofurther their career. The post-holder will work with young people from diversebackgrounds and should be committed to diversity and ensuring access toservices for all. This role is hybrid, but your main base will be within Oxleasoffice in Stepping Stones, with some time in Ethelbert Road and includes homeworking. The post holder must beprepared to be flexible in their working arrangements to ensure that allchildren and young people can access support at a time which suits their needs.

As part of this role the post holder will play an integral part onworking closely to support the interface between the iSPA and Bromley Yproviding a seamless pathway and positive experience for Children, Young Peopleand their families. You will workalongside the iSPA & Systems Lead to improve processes as the iSPAcontinues to develop. You will have some line management responsibilities andbe required to work closely with colleagues on managing safeguarding and riskassessments.

Post-holders who hold a professional qualification will be allocatedinterventions to maintain their qualification requirements.

2. KEYRESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

To join ongoing development and design meetings for the iSPA, playing akey role in formulating and implementing team/service objectives as required.

To provide leadership to the designated multi-disciplinary team, withresponsibility for the work undertaken within the team along with iSPA Managers.

To work closely with both services and external senior management andother professional colleagues to ensure high quality and effective serviceprovision.

To work with Bromley CAMHS and other partnership agencies to ensure CYPmental health services are delivered according to local objectives and jointcare strategies.

To develop and oversee policies and procedures within the team to ensuresafe and consistent service delivery and development alongside iSPA Managers.

To ensure services (iSPA and Bromley Y) are delivered in accordance withCYP IAPT principles.

To take a supporting role in the development, monitoring and review ofannual service/business plans for the iSPA with iSPA Managers.

To ensure information systems are kept up to date and comply with serviceprotocols.

To support regular, scheduled team meetings and other professional forumsas required with iSPA Managers.

Be responsible for ensuring quality assurance within the team.

Facilitate morning check ins for the iSPA team.

Facilitate consultation slots for professionals, developing theserelationships to improve service referrals.

Support screening for complex referrals in line with team managersdiscussion.

To support a seamless pathway between iSPA and Bromley Y, with a focus onmanaging risk, safeguarding and ensuring all relevant information is availablefor allocation of pathway for support.

Leadership

To deputise for the iSPA & Systems Lead in areas relating to the iSPAas required, including deputising for iSPA Managers to cover annual leave andsickness.

To be managerially and operationally accountable to the iSPA &Systems Lead for iSPA service delivery & interface with Bromley Y.

To facilitate iSPA group case supervision.

Develop iSPA Team training with Bromley CAMHS iSPA Manager.

To work alongside the iSPA managers to support the development,implementation and review of clinical and organisational change within the iSPA.

To provide line management for the BY iSPA team members.

To be a part of the Bromley Y Practice Lead meetings.

To be forward thinking and be a part of supporting new innovations andideas within the iSPA.

Clinical

To ensure iSPA team undertake appropriate clinical risk assessments,ensuring timely allocation and discharge of referrals in line with teamprocedures.

To take a lead in the management and review of complex cases.

To participate in BY Directorate/Trust-wide clinical initiatives andprojects.

To provide an evidenced based service for children and young people aspart of early identification and intervention for children and young peoplewith emotional and mental health needs.

Undertake agreed assessments and/or screening calls with children andyoung people and their parents if required.

Provide casework supervision to identified qualified and trainee staff.

To identify, always monitor and manage risk.

To ensure a young person is placed on the most appropriate pathwayfollowing MDT discussion.

To work across agencies to develop a coordinated response to children andyoung people's mental health needs offering consultation and advice to otherprofessionals on all aspects of mental health and wellbeing of children andtheir families (parents/carers).

To provide relevant psychoeducation and resources to children andfamilies if required.

Communication andRisk

To liaise with clinicians and managers at all levels within iSPA, BromleyCAMHS and Bromley Y.

To ensure all iSPA and Bromley Y escalation procedures are alwaysfollowed in a timely manner.

To respond appropriately and professionally to emotionally distressingsituations relating to abuse, mental health risk and trauma and to supportothers involved in such situations.

To ensure effective communication between iSPA and Bromley Y workingclosely with iSPA Team& Systems Lead to identify areas for continuedimprovement and development

3.PRACTICERESPONSIBILITIES

To deliver specialist evidence based therapeutic interventions with acaseload of children and families, to maintain their professional qualification, keeping abreast of current training and practice thiswill mainly be within Bromley Y but may also sit within the iSPA as the roledevelops.
