SALARY: Please refer to the Candidate Information Booklet

LOCATION: Belfast

NORTHERN IRELAND AUTHORITY FOR UTILITY REGULATION (THE UTILITY REGULATOR)

PROTECTING THE INTERESTS OF NORTHERN IRELAND'S ENERGY AND WATER CONSUMERS THROUGH EFFECTIVE ECONOMIC REGULATION

Appointment of Non-Executive Board Members

The Department of Finance is seeking to appoint two new members to the Board of The Northern Ireland Authority for Utility Regulation to replace two outgoing members who are coming to the end of their terms. The terms of appointment will be for seven years.

The Utility Regulator is the non-ministerial government department responsible for regulating the electricity and gas industries and water and sewerage services in Northern Ireland, to protect the short and long-term interests of consumers.

These roles are hugely important to the delivery of a healthier and more prosperous society. The appointments come at an exciting time for the Utility Regulator which is central to protecting energy consumers in the transition from fossil fuels to achieving net zero emission targets; and ensuring that business and domestic consumers alike pay a fair price for their energy.
