Our Team at Aon covers a variety of equity strategies utilized by our global client base. The successful applicant will work from our London office.

What the day will look like

You will be working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are ever the same. From keeping abreast of financial markets, to negotiating fee agreements with our chosen managers and finding the latest cutting edge investment strategies this is much more than just another research role. Your responsibilities will include

  • Overseeing a segment of the equity universe and driving research within that area
  • Undertaking of new fund due diligence and monitoring existing funds
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with other members of Aon's manager research team, business leadership, and members of the investment consulting team
  • Interacting with clients to promote our best thinking in portfolio construction, manager selection and equity trends
  • Creating and delivering presentations depicting team views, research and solutions
  • Demonstrating initiative and ownership in completing projects
  • Meeting deadlines and working with a variety of different internal clients.
  • Operating with limited supervision in completing assigned responsibilities
  • Management of junior team members
How this opportunity is different

The role will immediately see you participating in research in assigned areas but equally you will not be siloed and will participate in the research process for a variety of equity strategies. You will participate in discussions around setting the research agenda and will be given the opportunity to originate research in your areas of responsibility, if there is a client fit. Given the flat structure that we operate, your work will be a direct and important input into our ratings process. With the great breadth of research expertise at Aon you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with the equity and fixed income teams on certain projects. Although this is not primarily a client facing role, there may be opportunities to present to clients in your area of expertise

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • Experience in a fund research role, preferably equity-related investment strategies
  • Strong interest in financial markets
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Quick learner and demonstrated problem solver
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
