Inventory Team Leader - Warehouse Operations

As the Inventory Team Leader within a busy warehouse environment, you will be responsible for leading a team to ensure accurate stock control, efficient inventory processes, and smooth coordination between goods in, storage, and dispatch. You'll play a key role in maintaining inventory integrity, supporting operational targets, and driving continuous improvement.
About You Key Responsibilities Team Leadership- Lead, coach, and develop a team of inventory operatives.
- Allocate tasks and monitor performance to meet daily operational goals.
- Conduct team briefings and support training initiatives.
- Oversee daily inventory activities including cycle counts, stock takes, and adjustments.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies quickly and effectively.
- Ensure accurate data entry into warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Liaise with Goods In, Picking, and Dispatch teams to ensure stock accuracy across all areas.
- Support inbound and outbound processes with inventory checks and validations.
- Monitor replenishment and location accuracy to optimize space and efficiency.
- Produce regular inventory reports and KPIs for management review.
- Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation and traceability.
- Ensure compliance with warehouse health & safety standards and company policies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce errors and improve efficiency.
- Champion lean practices and contribute to warehouse improvement projects.
- Experience in a warehouse inventory or stock control role.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Working knowledge of WMS or ERP systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem solving ability.
- Good communication skills and ability to work cross functionally.
- NVQ Level 3 in Warehousing or equivalent.
- Forklift license (Counterbalance or Reach).
- Experience with lean methodologies or continuous improvement initiatives.
