Situated on the beautiful Isle of Arran on the West Coast of Scotland, Auchrannie is a unique resort with two 4-star hotels and over forty 5-star luxury self-catering lodges and retreats. In addition to our luxury accommodation, we deliver amazing dining experiences across our restaurants, alongside incredible leisure facilities and ASPA, Scotland's first island destination spa.

In November, we will be opening Bay Café by Auchrannie, an exciting new venture in the heart of Brodick. The café will offer great food, and the friendly, welcoming service Auchrannie is known for.

About the role

In this fast paced kitchen role at Bay Café by Auchrannie, you will be part of a brand-new team, helping us create great food and welcoming café experience for both local customers and visitors to Arran.

In this role, you will:
  • maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked workstation throughout each shift
  • complete pot wash, load dishwashers and cleaning down surfaces.
  • complete food preparation before and during service, including chopping, and assembling ingredients
  • follow all food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures
  • handle and store food correctly, including labelling, date rotation
  • help receive and correctly store food deliveries
  • clean kitchen equipment, work surfaces and storage areas to the required standard
  • complete opening, closing and daily cleaning duties
  • report any damaged equipment, maintenance concerns or food safety issues promptly
  • maintain a professional, positive and calm approach in a busy café environment.
To be suitable for this role you will:
  • have some prior kitchen experience as a kitchen porter/assistant
  • have a good level of physical fitness and enjoy and physically active role
  • be reliable and have a positive approach to team work
  • be passionate about good food and delighting your guests
  • look for further development and training opportunities in the kitchen

Your standard working week will be five days over seven. Shifts will be mainly during the daytime and will include weekends, although some evening shifts will also be needed. Some flexibility to work across the Cafe and the Resort Kitchens will be required.
