About the roleWe have an exciting internal secondment opportunity for a Supervisor to join the Grounds (South and West) team at our Eaton Park depot. About the role: The job leads the day to day delivery of grounds maintenance services, overseeing operatives, planning labour and materials, and ensuring all work meets contractual standards and seasonal KPIs. Responsibilities include grass, shrub, hedge and play area inspection targets, compliance with pesticide legislation, and adherence to environmental and wildlife regulations.
The role maintains strong communication with Norwich City Council and other customers, supports joint working across teams, and identifies new business opportunities. It manages recruitment, training, performance, absence, and disciplinary processes, while driving a safety first culture through inspections, investigations, and corrective actions. The position also contributes to budgeting, cost control, fleet coordination, GDPR compliance, and continuous improvement across operations.
An ideal candidate combines proven experience in grounds maintenance with confident, effective supervision of teams and day to day operations. They hold a relevant horticulture certification, such as City & Guilds, or bring equivalent experience. Organisational skills enable them to plan, prioritise and allocate resources effectively, while strong decision making and problem solving abilities support smooth daily operations.
This role is for 37 hours per week and offered as a 3 month secondment.

RequirementsDriving Licence
Experience in grounds maintenance
