Interim Public Health Consultant

Interim Public Health Consultant - West London - £600 a day (Umbrella)

A West London Local Authority is recruiting for an Interim Public Health Consultant to provide strategic leadership across the council and with key local and regional partners.

Role Purpose

You will play a pivotal leadership role in developing a clear vision and strategy for cross-cutting public health programmes, with a particular focus on:

• Health improvement
• Health protection
• Healthcare public health

The role requires a generalist Public Health Consultant or Principal, with significant experience in the strategic leadership of drug and alcohol and sexual health services. Experience of commissioning 0-19 child public health services would be advantageous. You will join a small, collaborative Public Health team, so a flexible and proactive approach to work priorities is essential.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Public Health (or equivalent)
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a strategic public health leadership role within a local authority
• Proven track record of leading and delivering effective public health programmes
• Strong partnership and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
• Membership of the Faculty of Public Health and participation in CPD programmes (desirable)

Contract Details

• Duration: Initial 6 months, with the potential to extend up to 12 months
• Location: West London (Hybrid) - attendance required for key meetings, approximately 4-6 days per month
• Rate: £600 per day (Umbrella)
