Interim Accountant

We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join an established organisation in the not-for-profit sector. This position, based in Oxford, requires expertise in managing financial operations within a charitable organisation.

Description

• Produce monthly and annual financial, management and reports.
• Present financial results to stakeholders.
• Lead the annual budget process and forecasting.
• Manage cashflow and working capital; provide cashflow forecasts.
• Implement and maintain finance systems and process improvements.
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee finances for capital projects.
• Monthly payroll
• Prepare or review financial statements and statutory returns.
• Lead the audit and liaise with auditors.
• Support compliance and financial reserve policy development.
• Line-manage and develop the Finance Assistant.

Profile

Essential:

• Qualified accountant.
• Charity or group financial control skills.
• Strong finance systems and reporting knowledge.
• Background in developing financial strategy.
• Background in creating and improving financial procedures and controls.
• Capital project finance skills.
• Background in implementing new finance systems.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong stakeholder relationship skills.
• Proven leadership and team development skills.
• Ability to influence organisational change.

Desirable:

• Project management qualification.
• ICAEW Fellowship (or equivalent).
• Background of working in Higher education.
• Knowledge of Charity SORP.
• Fund and endowment accounting skills.

Job Offer
