Are you looking to step away from the unpredictability of site work and into a role where you can shape the future of construction? Crawley College is searching for a dedicated Instructor Technician to join our Construction department and guide the next wave of skilled tradespeople.

As our Instructor Technician, you'll support students and staff by ensuring the safe use of equipment, preparing teaching resources, and maintaining an organised learning environment. It's a hands on role with a clear purpose - equipping young talent with the skills to thrive in the construction industry.

As a key member of our team, you will demonstrate consistently high standards of professional conduct and act as a positive role model for students at all times. You will bring your industry experience into the classroom in a way that reflects professional expectations, promoting respectful behaviour, upholding the Group's Core Values, and maintaining a safe, well managed learning environment.

We offer a stable, balanced lifestyle with a reliable, salaried income, at least 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays, a Christmas shutdown and the option to purchase extra holiday time.

Growth opportunities include robust staff development, career progression, on site café, discounts, wellness programmes and mental health support.

Our benefits include:

  • Local Government Pension Scheme - the Group contributes 15% of your actual pensionable pay.
  • 25 days annual leave, increasing to 28 days in line with continuous service plus bank holidays and college closure days over the Christmas period which are not deducted from annual leave entitlement. You can purchase up to 5 days additional leave.
  • Discount schemes - discounts on shopping, restaurants, travel and onsite facilities such as our gym and First Steps Childcare nurseries (specific campuses only).
  • Family friendly policies - enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption pay (dependent on continuous service).
  • Continuous professional development opportunities - development days, funded apprenticeships and access to a range of other courses and activities.
  • And much more - see the Staff Benefits booklet attached to this advert for more information.

We actively encourage applications from those seeking job shares or other flexible working arrangements. Our roles are designed with adaptability in mind and we are committed to an inclusive environment where different ways of working are celebrated.

The Chichester College Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All posts are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. It is an offence to apply if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. We vigorously pursue all references and safeguarding checks to ensure applicants are suitable to work with young people.
