Instructor (UQT) Construction and The Built Environment

Thirsk School & Sixth Form College is looking for an experienced and motivated construction professional to join as an Instructor (Unqualified Teacher) to deliver our Level 2 Construction and the Built Environment Programme. This role offers a chance for a professional with strong industry experience to develop the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high quality teaching and practical instruction in Construction and the Built Environment.
- Plan and prepare lessons and learning materials aligned to the Level 2 qualification.
- Demonstrate safe and effective use of tools, equipment and workshop spaces.
- Assess students' work and provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Support students' progress, engagement and personal development.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Technology department and wider school.
- Significant experience in the construction industry.
- Strong practical skills and up to date industry knowledge.
- Clear communication skills and ability to explain concepts and techniques effectively.
- Enjoy working with young people and commitment to helping them succeed.
- Willingness to undertake training and development.
This role requires four days per week, initially Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Specific days may change in subsequent years.
