Solutions Engineer (Infrastructure / 3rd Line)

Location: London Hybrid working

Industry: Managed IT Services Creative Sector

Salary: £45,000 (DOE)

A fast paced Managed IT Services Provider supporting 5,000+ users across 100+ creative industry clients is looking for a Solutions Engineer (Infrastructure focused) to join its growing team.

This role is ideal for someone with 3+ years' experience in IT infrastructure and support, particularly within an MSP environment, who is comfortable providing 3rd line support, working on infrastructure projects, and acting as an escalation point for junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 3rd line technical support to clients, remotely and on site
  • Act as an escalation point for 1st and 2nd line engineers
  • Manage and support Windows Server environments (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO)
  • Configure and manage virtualised environments (Hyper V / VMware)
  • Support and maintain enterprise backup solutions (Veeam)
  • Manage and troubleshoot client networks (VLANs, VPNs, routing, DNS, DHCP)
  • Support Microsoft 365, Intune, MDT and cloud storage solutions
  • Deliver infrastructure projects, upgrades, and system migrations
  • Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times
Skills & Experience
  • 3+ years' experience in an MSP or similar environment
  • Strong Windows Server and Active Directory expertise
  • Experience with server virtualisation (Hyper V, VMware)
  • Strong knowledge of Veeam Backup & Replication
  • Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing)
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and MDT
  • Exposure to endpoint security tools (Microsoft Defender, Sophos, Bitdefender)
  • Confident communicator with strong client facing skills
