Main duties of the jobAs an Infrastructure Engineer you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the support, maintenance and development of the Trust's network and telephony infrastructure.
An Infrastructure Engineer must be able to maintain and troubleshoot the Digital Services Infrastructure to enable maximum system availability. A key part of the role is to investigate and demonstrate the use of new and emerging technologies which can support and improve ways of working across the organisation.
The post holder will be expected to participate in the Digital Services Out of hours On-Call emergency service.

Job responsibilitiesThe Infrastructure Engineer role is a mix of innovation and support. It goes without saying we always strive to maximise system uptime but providing users with access to the latest technologies to make their role easier and maximise our valuable resource across the trust is also key to the success of the infrastructure team.
The configuration, documentation, support, maintenance and development of the trusts server, network and telephony infrastructure is key to the role.
As part of the infrastructure team working alongside the other Digital Service functions you will quickly develop relationships and opportunities which combine to form both a challenging and rewarding role.

Person Specification Knowledge and Experience- Must be educated to degree level or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years' experience working in a Digital Services environment, providing advanced technical support for Microsoft Windows technologies
- Knowledge in the design, installation and configuration of complex, multi-site data networks, including installation requirements of ethernet and fibre optic local area network cabling, switching hardware used to connect computer and other peripheral equipment.
- Excellent ability in working with a diverse range of technical operating systems and applications
- Knowledge of Cloud Environments including Office365 and Azure
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Experience of managing a WAN and LAN rollout including Wireless and Telephony on new / renovated premises.
- Knowledge and experience of Infrastructure Virtualisation.
- Experience of Cisco Internetwork Operating System for the configuration of associated products
- Strong technical skills with an overarching view of several technologies and demonstrable specialist skills in several areas including IP Telephony and Microsoft server products.
- Analytical skills are required to interpret and analyse highly complex technical information across complex heterogeneous technical platforms ensuring Trust systems are highly available.
- Ability to plan and organise the installation of equipment and other digital services in order to meet the goals of Digital Services strategy and various projects.
- Ability to prioritise and quickly assess major technical issues to minimise downtime and ensure a high business continuity level is maintained
