Job Summary

Infrastructure Design Services is a team of Technology Architects and Engineers responsible for analysing and designing infrastructure frameworks that support application, platform, and system needs in alignment with our operational standards and principles.
The Infrastructure Design Architect plays a critical role from the early stages of analysis and design, partnering with application teams and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that infrastructure and application architecture meet security, availability, scalability, and performance standards.
The primary deliverable for this role is the Technical Architecture Document (TAD), detailing the end-to-end infrastructure design for applications, platforms, or systems.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

• Lead infrastructure analysis and design activities aligned with enterprise standards.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive Technical Architecture Documents (TADs).
• Generate logical flows, models, and technical documentation to ensure stakeholder alignment.
• Design scalable, secure, and resilient Internet infrastructure solutions.
• Ensure architectural artifacts remain current and aligned with evolving requirements.

Requirements & Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, development teams, and business stakeholders to define and validate high-level system requirements.
• Ensure requirements are complete, consistent, operationally defined, and technically sound.
• Interface with users and cross-functional teams to gather and refine evolving needs.
• Drive alignment across geographically distributed, Matrix-based teams.

Infrastructure Engineering & Operations

• Design and implement Internet infrastructure components leveraging best practices.
• Support and manage web Servers, application Servers, Middleware, and related technologies.
• Perform:
  • Problem diagnosis and resolution
  • Performance tuning
  • Capacity planning
  • Configuration management
• Resolve architectural and operational issues impacting global product availability and performance.
• Monitor production environments to ensure stability and forward compatibility.

Security & Resilience

• Design and configure:
  • Load balancers
  • Firewall policies
  • Routing strategies
• Implement disaster recovery and failover strategies.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security and availability standards.

Innovation & Leadership

• Research and evaluate emerging technologies for potential adoption.
• Lead regional infrastructure projects including:
  • Planning
  • Resource management
  • Time and cost control
• Take ownership and accountability for assigned initiatives.

Technical Expertise

• Strong understanding of:
  • Internet fundamentals
  • Web architecture
  • Network principles
  • Operating systems
• Experience with:
  • Web Servers and application Servers
  • Middleware infrastructure design (Visio experience preferred)
  • Load balancing technologies
  • Firewall configuration and policies
  • Disaster recovery and routing strategies
• Knowledge of cloud architecture and design principles.
• Experience designing infrastructure from the ground up.
