Infrastructure Design Services Architect
OverviewInfrastructure Design Services (IDS) is a team of Technology Architects and Engineers responsible for analysing and designing infrastructure frameworks that support applications, platforms, and systems in alignment with our operational standards and architectural principles.
The IDS team engages early in the analysis and design life cycle, partnering closely with application teams and key stakeholders to ensure that infrastructure and application architectures meet stringent requirements for security, scalability, availability, and performance.
The primary deliverable for this role is the Technical Architecture Document (TAD), which defines and documents the end-to-end infrastructure design for applications, platforms, or systems.
This role requires strong experience with Internet infrastructure fundamentals, including web Servers, application Servers, Internet security, and related technologies. The successful candidate will design and deliver resilient Internet infrastructure solutions that meet member, product, service, and backbone requirements on a global scale.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, application teams, and users to gather, define, and validate high-level system and infrastructure requirements.
- Translate requirements into clear, complete, and operationally defined architecture designs.
- Produce and maintain architectural deliverables including Technical Architecture Documents (TADs), technical specifications, logical flows, and infrastructure models.
- Ensure all architectural artifacts remain current and aligned with evolving requirements and standards.
- Design Middleware and Internet infrastructure solutions using industry-standard tools (eg, Microsoft Visio).
- Resolve architectural and operational issues impacting infrastructure availability, scalability, and performance across global environments.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies for potential adoption within our Internet infrastructure.
- Lead or take full accountability for regional infrastructure projects, including planning, delivery, resource utilization, and time/cost control, as assigned.
- Implement, manage, and support Internet infrastructure components in accordance with established standards and best practices.
- Perform problem diagnosis, performance tuning, capacity planning, and configuration management for Internet-facing components.
- Monitor production systems to ensure stability, reliability, and future compatibility.

- Strong knowledge of networking concepts, operating system principles, and web Middleware technologies.
- Deep expertise in one or more core areas of Internet infrastructure design and/or web administration.
- Advanced knowledge of load balancers and web application Firewalls (WAF).
- Working knowledge of database technologies.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture principles and network micro-segmentation.
- Experience working with YAML-based deployments and configuration.
- High-energy, proactive, and detail-oriented, with the ability to operate independently in high-pressure environments.
- Strong initiative and self-motivation, with a proven ability to drive results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a matrixed, geographically distributed team.
