Job Description
  • Fixed-term contract, September 2025 - 27 March 2026
  • This role will involve some weekend and evening work. You will accrue TOIL for additional hours. TOIL needs to be taken within the contract period i.e. before 27 March 2026, and be agreed with the Industry Manager.

The successful candidate will support the smooth running of two of Glasgow Film Festival's talent development projects; Animatic our lab for Scottish-based creatives and studios designed to help develop animated short films, feature films or TV series for an international audiences, funded by the Scottish Government's Festival EXPO fund, and; our New Talent Mentorship for emerging professionals working in film, high-end television or animation, funded by The William Frant Foundation. You will be expected to oversee the application process for Animatic, support the delivery of workshops and serve as the main contact for applicant's, participants and contributors.

As the primary contact for the New Talent Mentorship Scheme, you will monitor mentee progress, ensure they are booking in their monthly meetings and submitting their reports on time. You will work closely with the Talent Development Coordinator to provide additional sessions if required for mentees to support their development.

The role will also coordinate outreach events with partner organisations to promote all of Glasgow Film Festival's talent development opportunities to target audiences. This will include working with partners, such as Animation Scotland and Clanimation, to organise and deliver networking sessions, screenings and workshops.

You will work as part of a team led by the Industry Manager, and report directly to the Talent Development Coordinator, alongside another Industry Projects Officer, who is responsible for delivering the festival's programme of talent development opportunities. The team also includes them Industry Focus Coordinator, who is responsible for delivering the industry conference taking place during the 2026 edition of the festival.

The role also involves processing participant reports, providing regular updates to the Industry Manager, and supporting wider talent development activities as needed.

Strong attention to detail, administration experience and strong written and verbal communication skills are essential to this post, along with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE ESSENTIAL (E)/ DESIRABLE (D)

An understanding of UK & International Film Festivals and their industry programmes E

An understanding on the development of events and projects that underline our commitment to diversity and inclusion E

An interest in the Scottish Film & TV Sector E

Knowledge of UK & International Talent Development Schemes D

Experience of using Microsoft packages and other database programmes E

Experience of working in a film or event related environment D

Administration experience, preferably in an arts related environment, and ability to manage and collate large amounts of data E

An interest in animation and knowledge of the key stakeholders across Scotland and the UK D

Demonstrable experience of working in and supporting talent development D

An understanding of and clear commitment to anti-racism, equity, diversity and equal opportunities E

An understanding of environmental and sustainability issues relevant to the role D
