Job Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE AND OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB:

Introduction of new high reliability products to manufacturing within ASN standards and procedures. Provide technical support to project team, production, project stakeholders, work with R&D and support manufacturing to ensure any issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Prioritize tasks according to project and manufacturing needs.
  2. Report weekly on the progress of activities to the Industrial Manager.
  3. Design the technical solutions (Mechanical design of the test bench, mechanical assembly process, tools, tooling, manufacturing equipment) to be put into production.
  4. Create the documentary package for new product/ process solutions (mechanical assembly procedures, tools documentation, tooling drawings, manufacturing equipment procedures, etc) following ASN procedures and standards.
  5. Providing mechanical input into test bench procedures (tooling, assembly information, layouts, etc).
  6. Validation of the tooling, test benches (ergonomics, safety, etc), new processes, etc prior to introduction into manufacturing.
  7. Work in close collaboration with the Manufacturing team, R&D, Production, Quality, Test/Software Engineering and Production Support Engineering, Material Planning, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Health and Safety teams in a process of continuous improvement.
  8. Drive and coordinate the delivery of the deliverables required during the introduction phases of new products and ramp up projects.
  9. Creating and delivering improvement proposals, engineering estimates, and risk and opportunity analyses.
  10. Manage tooling quantities according to the capacity required by the business.
  11. Support investigations into customer product returns and manufacturing failures.
  12. Participate in a cross-functional team to develop and implement cost reduction ideas.
  13. ITS, Permit, PFMEA, lessons learned management.
  14. Manage NPI releases (DR2M) to achieve manufacturing plan.
  15. Assisting the Industrial Manager with audits and customer reviews.
  16. Train operators/trainers on new build and test processes in conjunction with training school.
  17. Manage New Product Introduction and New Process Introduction reviews and feedback with stakeholders (SED, Quality, Training, Manufacturing, Production Support, etc.).
  18. If Assigned, Document approvals/Design Reviews.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE FOR THE JOB
  • Degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Good Overall Knowledge in submarine products.
  • Experience in mechanical process Engineering.
  • Understanding of electromechanical production processes.
  • Awareness in Health and Safety regulations.
  • Experience in planning.
  • Knowledge / experience of cellular manufacture, Lean Manufacturing, kaizen, 5S, PFMEA.
  • Experience of working in Product Design and industrialisation as an Engineer.
  • High level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies.
