Job Description

Are you passionate about driving real improvements in factory operations? At Thai Union, we're looking for an Industrial Engineer who thrives on turning data and observations into practical, lasting solutions on the shop floor. In this role, you won't sit behind a desk, you'll be at the heart of our production processes, working directly with site leadership and technical teams initially focusing on Poland and Portugal, but ultimately supporting all European factories.


Your focus will be on yield improvement, labor productivity, and line efficiency - identifying where small adjustments can make a big impact. You'll coordinate closely with both factory teams to streamline processes, balance production lines, and ensure that best practices are shared across our network. This is a hands-on role that requires a combination of analytical thinking, technical know-how, and strong.


The role reports to the Managing Director, European Plants and can be based in either Gniewino, Poland or Peniche, Portugal, with regular travel between multiple European factories as needed.



Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed assessments of current production flows, yields, and labor utilization to uncover efficiency gaps.
  • Design and implement solutions to optimize line balancing, reduce waste, and improve productivity.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles and time studies to drive sustainable performance improvements.
  • Provide expertise and hands-on support to factory maintenance teams, local engineering team, and plant management.
  • Act as a key connector between both factories, helping to standardize best practices, foster cross-site learning, and identify opportunities for network-wide improvement.
  • Support data-driven decision making through analysis of operational KPIs, using tools such as Excel, Power BI, and ERP/MES systems.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement by providing coaching and building capability in local teams.

About You:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 3-5 years' experience in floor-based engineering roles within food processing or high-volume manufacturing.
  • Proven track record of improving yield and labor productivity using time studies, line design, and lean tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and data literacy (Excel, Power BI); experience with SAP/ERP or MES is a plus.
  • Experience in managing or contributing to international projects is an added advantage
  • Fluent in English, other languages such as German or French would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across European factories, with base location in Poland or Portugal.
