Independant Optometrist Opportunity, Alresford / £67,000 / 45 minute testing times / IP Funding

An exciting opportunity has become available for a patient-focused Optometrist to join a highly respected independent optical practice in Alresford.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Optometrist seeking a long-term role within an established independent practice that combines outstanding clinical standards with a genuinely supportive and community-driven culture.

With flexible working arrangements, strong clinical investment, and a close-knit team environment, this role offers the chance to practice optics in the way it should be - patient-led, clinically focused, and rewarding.

This well-established independent practice has built a strong reputation for delivering exceptional patient care and personalised service within the local community.

The team pride themselves on creating a welcoming and supportive workplace where staff feel valued, listened to, and encouraged to develop professionally. This is a practice where quality always comes before volume, allowing clinicians the time and tools needed to deliver outstanding care.

The practice offers a relaxed and professional working environment with a strong emphasis on teamwork, patient relationships, and clinical excellence.

What your day will look like:

As the resident Optometrist, you will work closely with an experienced dispensing and support team to provide comprehensive and tailored patient care.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive eye examinations
  • Providing contact lens appointments and aftercare

  • Delivering a patient-first clinical experience
  • Working collaboratively with Dispensing Opticians and support teams
  • Recommending appropriate optical solutions focused on patient benefit
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records
  • Supporting practice growth through excellent patient relationships
  • Participating in clinical governance and quality assurance processes

This is a role where you will have the time to build rapport with patients and genuinely make a difference within the local community.

Equipment includes:

  • OCT
  • Fundus camera

Additional accreditations such as GRR or Post Cataract experience would be advantageous, although not essential.

The practice understands the importance of work-life balance and is open to discussions around flexibility.

Salary and Benefits

  • £67,000
  • GOC & AOP fees paid
  • CPD and continuing education support
  • Access to CPD events
  • Company pension scheme
  • Incentive scheme
  • Staff and family discounts
  • 33 days holiday including bank holidays (pro rata)
  • Career progression opportunities
  • Team building events
  • Company sick pay

Who they're looking for!

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a qualified and GOC-registered Optometrist
  • Have experience within community practice
  • Deliver a patient-centred and empathetic approach
  • Possess strong clinical and communication skills
  • Enjoy working collaboratively within a team environment
  • Be committed to continued professional development
  • Value quality patient care over transactional optics

Why this move could be the right one:

This opportunity would suit an Optometrist who is looking to move away from high-volume retail environments and into a practice where clinical care, patient relationships, and team culture truly matter.

You will be joining an independent practice with:
