We are seeking an outstanding and resilient Inclusion Room Manager to join a welcoming and inclusive mainstream school in Reading. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher with exceptional behaviour management skills who is passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve success.
The Role
The successful candidate will lead our Inclusion Room, providing high-quality support and intervention for students who require temporary placement outside of mainstream lessons. You will work closely with pastoral leaders, teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to reintegrate students successfully into the classroom.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the Inclusion Room.
- Supporting students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs.
- Delivering learning activities and ensuring students remain on track academically.
- Promoting positive behaviour and supporting students to make better choices.
- Developing individual support plans and behaviour strategies.
- Working collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies.
- Monitoring progress, attendance, and behaviour outcomes.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a qualified teacher who has:
- Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach.
- Experience working with students who present challenging behaviour.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A commitment to inclusion and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.
- The ability to motivate, inspire, and support students to reach their potential.
- A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
