Incident Communications Engineer

Location: Remote - may need to be onsite for onboarding in Reading on starting.

Shift pattern: 7:30am to 4pm Mondays to Fridays for the first 3 months and then after 3 months, they will need to be flexible to either work Tuesdays to Saturdays or Sundays to Thursdays.

Salary: £28,000 per annum

Length: 12 month rolling assignment

We have an opportunity for an Incident Communications Engineer to join Experis on a permanent basis. You will be working as part of our Employed Consultant team, on site with a multi-national technology company based in Reading. Role Purpose:
An Incident Communications and Coordination Engineer is required to work as part of a collaborative team that serve as an incident management and communications support operation for both external and internal users. You will be required to support a variety of Microsoft technology offerings that form the Office 365 offering including SharePoint, Exchange and Lync.


You will form part of a global 24x7 operation and will be required to coordinate and effectively communicate on high severity incidents in the Office 365 space. Working with multiple teams you will need to deliver timely and accurate communications to internal stakeholders and to external users.



Additional information

  • Key focus: Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication as they must be able to translate technical information into non-technical language and vice versa in written and verbal form.
  • Experience of being the first point of call for incidents and have experience of taking notes for incidents.
  • Written communications skills: i.e. good punctuation, grammar, spelling.
  • Candidates must understand what the incident is and what the root cause is. They will be troubleshooting for Exchange, SharePoint and Lync.

Breaks: 1 hour but is split into 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the afternoon
