About The Role
This is a fixed term / secondment opportunity until September 2027
Do you want to work in a role where you can support people to rebuild their lives?
We are currently looking for a committed and passionate individual to join the Street Legal team as an Immigration Link Worker where you will provide support to non-UK nationals who are homeless and link them with immigration advice service providers.
Street Legal is a unique cross-sector collaboration aiming to provide access to impartial, confidential and free immigration advice for non-UK nationals who sleep rough on the streets of London. Street Legal tackles rough sleeping through a combination of immigration advice, temporary housing and training for the homelessness and migration sectors. During this process people are helped to access temporary accommodation at St Mungo's, support services and healthcare. They also receive food, clothing, toiletries and travel support.
As the Ealing Immigration Link Worker, you will support a busy outreach team to coordinate support for non-UK nationals experiencing homelessness. This will include monitoring the team's caseload to identify individuals needing support, responding to referrals, and carrying out comprehensive strength-based assessments. Assessments consider the requirements under current immigration rules, provisions for immigration advice and agreed timeframes.
You will organise and facilitate initial consultations with immigration advice service providers in a way that effectively encourages engagement and promotes opportunities for clients to resolve their immigration matters. Working in partnership with specialist staff and external partners you will be responsible for supporting the working shift pattern of the service and adopting a multidisciplinary approach to support.
You will be based in the team's office in Hanwell, with flexible working in different settings, including travel across Greater London, St Mungo's offices or on street outreach shifts.
