IDC Technical Designer - Architecture & Digital Products - Based in the Dublin Office
Posted 2 days 7 hours ago by Reddy Architecture Group
Dublin Mid Level Full Time
Reddy Architecture + Urbanism is developing its Industrialised Design + Construction (IDC) capability to move beyond traditional project by project design delivery towards a platform based approach based on productization, standardisation, configuration and automation. The IDC Technical Designer will play a key role in developing the architectural products and digital content that underpin this approach.
The position combines architectural and technical design with advanced Revit content development. The successful candidate will help translate residential design requirements into standardised and configurable housing products, kits of parts, Revit families, assemblies and digital models that can be deployed through RAU's digital configuration and delivery platform.
This is not primarily a conventional project production role. The focus is on designing and developing reusable architectural products and systems that can subsequently be configured and deployed across multiple projects. The role would suit an Architect or Architectural Technologist with strong Revit capabilities who is interested in the intersection of architecture, product design, MMC, digital delivery and manufacturing led construction.
Key Responsibilities:- Architectural Product Development: Develop architectural layouts and residential typologies as part of RAU's productization process.
- Kit-of-Parts Development: Support the development of RAU's architectural Kit-of-Parts, converting repeatable design solutions into structured digital components and assemblies.
- Revit Family & Digital Content Development: Create high-quality, parametric Revit families and model content suitable for use within the IDC digital platform.
- Digital Configurator Content: Prepare architectural models and components for integration with RAU's digital configuration environment.
- Product Rules & Design Logic: Work with the IDC team to establish the rules governing how products can be configured.
- Technical & Regulatory Integration: Ensure that architectural products are developed with consideration of relevant Irish Building Regulations, Technical Guidance Documents, planning standards and recognised technical standards.
- Design Automation & Drawing Outputs: Support the development and testing of automated architectural deliverables generated from configured models.
- MMC & Manufacturing Integration: Develop architectural products with consideration of manufacturing and assembly requirements.
- Product Testing & Continuous Improvement: Support pilot implementation of IDC products on live residential projects.
