About the role:
We are recruiting an ICA Technician (Instrumentation, Control, and Automation) based at Latton - Cirencester or Swinford WTW, to join Thames Water. The role involves working with operational teams such as systems, mechanical, and electrical technicians.
The responsibilities include installing, modifying, and commissioning plant equipment, diagnosing and repairing faults, and implementing cost-effective improvements. The role also covers maintenance tasks, supervising contractors, investigating plant failures, conducting risk assessments, and providing technical advice and training.
Key responsibilities:
- Install, modify, and commission plant equipment; diagnose and repair faults; identify and report follow-up work.
- Perform instrumentation, control, and automation maintenance, including planned, preventative, and reactive tasks; liaise with contractors.
- Investigate plant failures, implement repairs promptly, and conduct risk assessments with method statements.
- Provide technical advice, support training, and contribute to project development and capital projects.
Location: Latton - Cirencester or Swinford WTW
Working pattern: 38 hours/week, Monday-Friday, plus standby and overtime opportunities.
Additional info: PPE, tools, van, and fuel card provided.
Requirements:
- Practical understanding of plant and control systems; knowledge of Wonderware, ClearSCADA, relay logic, and PLCs.
- Ability to read and fault-find from circuit diagrams.
- Experience with instrumentation such as flow meters, pressure sensors, ultrasonics, telemetry.
- Qualified to HNC level or NVQ Level 3 in electrical subjects.
- Valid driving license required.
