Job Description
Overview

Our client is seeking an HVAC Project Lead to take ownership of the full delivery of engineering projects - from design through installation and handover. You will ensure every project meets its requirements, legislative standards, and is delivered on time, on budget, and safely.

Responsibilities
  • Project Planning & Coordination
    • Develop schedules and milestones, and coordinate all project activities
    • Liaise with design engineers, contractors, and suppliers
    • Ensure project scope aligns with client requirements
    • Provide technical input during project meetings
  • Technical Oversight
    • Review and validate HVAC designs and drawings
    • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards (e.g., Dw144), and specifications
    • Approve equipment selections and submittals
    • Resolve technical challenges during design and construction
  • Site Execution & Supervision
    • Monitor installation activities to ensure quality and safety
    • Conduct site inspections and verify work against drawings
    • Coordinate commissioning and testing of systems
    • Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Maintain project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, and progress reports
    • Prepare handover documents and O&M manuals
    • Track project costs and support budget control
    • Report progress to stakeholders and escalate issues as needed
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Communicate with clients to clarify requirements and expectations
    • Deliver technical presentations and updates
    • Manage client feedback and ensure satisfaction
    • Support post-installation troubleshooting and warranty issues
What You Bring (Qualifications)
  • HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
  • Expertise in design and fabrication/assembly of packaged plant rooms
  • Experience with modular design and manufacture
  • Knowledge of industry standards and legislation, including CE marking
  • Customer-facing experience with strong commercial awareness
  • Skilled in requirements management, configuration, and change control
  • Ideally experienced in HVAC design for bespoke mechanical equipment, particularly in Nuclear applications
  • Experience managing full project lifecycle from tender to delivery
  • Conversant with RIBA standards
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to gain and hold SC clearance
