HVAC Design Engineer

Senior HVAC Designer & Project Lead / Residential HVAC Designer / HVAC Project Lead required to work for a leading HVAC company based in Fort Worth, TX.

The Senior HVAC Designer & Project Lead / Residential HVAC Designer / HVAC Project Lead will be responsible for overseeing the design process for residential new construction projects, creating code-compliant and installation-ready HVAC designs using Wrightsoft, and providing leadership within the design department. The successful candidate will have advanced technical knowledge, strong experience in HVAC design, and the ability to mentor a growing team.

Package & Location:

• $85,000 - $100,000 base salary + Performance-Based Bonus

Senior HVAC Designer & Project Lead / Residential HVAC Designer / HVAC Project Lead Responsibilities:

• Use Wrightsoft (including Manual J) to perform load calculations and create duct layouts
• Interpret architectural blueprints to design code-compliant, install-ready HVAC systems
• Prepare accurate material takeoffs and labor estimates
• Finalize and document designs in ServiceTitan at least two weeks before scheduled installations
• Develop and refine internal design standards and processes
• Mentor junior designers and assist in team growth
• Meet with builders to review plans, clarify design intent, and support long-term relationships

Senior HVAC Designer & Project Lead / Residential HVAC Designer / HVAC Project Lead Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in residential HVAC design for new construction
• Advanced proficiency in Wrightsoft (Manual J expertise required)
• Strong understanding of airflow, system sizing, ductwork, and building codes
• Experience preparing takeoffs, BOMs, and install-ready designs
• Familiarity with ServiceTitan or similar software
