  • Derry/L'Derry
  • 4 day working week (38 hours per week, Mon - Thurs)

We are recruiting for our client, a successful engineering business in Derry/Londonderry, who are seeking a proactive and people-focused HR Officer to join their team.

This is an exciting, new, stand alone, permanent role (38 hours per week, Monday-Thursday) offering the opportunity to play a pivotal role in HR operations, employee engagement, and talent management across the organisation.

The Role
  • Act as a trusted HR advisor for employees and line managers on policies, procedures, compliance, and employment legislation
  • Provide employee relations support, addressing queries and assisting with grievance resolution
  • Manage recruitment processes end-to-end: drafting job descriptions, sourcing candidates, interviewing, and onboarding
  • Promote the organisation as an employer of choice through engagement with schools, agencies, and partners
  • Support apprenticeships, graduate programs, training plans, and employee development initiatives
  • Manage performance review processes, including probation reviews, and coordinate training plans
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives, including the 'We are FAST' team
  • Maintain HR records, prepare contracts, correspondence, and ensure accurate HR system data
  • Administer employee benefits, payroll support, and offboarding processes
  • Analyse HR metrics and provide reports to senior management
The Person
  • 3rd level qualification in HR or relevant discipline
  • Minimum 2-3 years' HR generalist experience
  • CIPD Level 3 or above desirable
  • Knowledge of HR policies, employment legislation, and best practice
  • Proficient in HR systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in manufacturing/engineering/production desirable
  • Full clean driving licence
