Job Title: HR Manager

Location: Carrickfergus (with oversight of Bath site)

Contract Type: part time, Contract (with potential to become Permanent for the right candidate)

Working Hours: 24-25 hours per week (8:00-16:30 or 9:00-17:30)

Preferred Working Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday ( flexible )

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced HR Manager to join its global team. This part time role supports a business with a headcount of 40-42 employees, primarily based in Carrickfergus and Bath. The successful candidate will work mostly independently, managing HR operations for both sites, while reporting to EMEA HR Lead and liaising with US-based leadership to deliver strategic and operational HR support across two legal jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage recruitment processes across Carrickfergus and Bath sites
  • Develop and maintain employee engagement initiatives and track HR KPIs globally (eg labour turnover, engagement scores)
  • Manage Front End payroll processes: gather internal changes (eg sick leave, salary adjustments, maternity leave), liaise with external payroll providers, approve payroll, and collaborate with finance to ensure timely payments
  • Oversee contractor payroll and contribute to month-end reporting
  • Ensure compliance with local employment legislation, including Equality Commission requirements
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Act as a key HR point of contact for employees and managers
  • Provide strategic HR guidance in a private equity-backed, small business environment with limited corporate HR infrastructure

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • CIPD Level 7 qualified
  • Proven experience in a small business setting
  • Exposure to US-based private equity environments
  • Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise with US leadership while ensuring compliance with UK and NI employment law
  • Solid understanding of employment/labour law across multiple jurisdictions
  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with Front End payroll and recruitment processes
