Essential:

  • Previous experience within an HR or similar administrative role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Reliable, hardworking and proactive approach
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and HR systems

Desirable:

  • Experience within a professional services environment
  • Experience using SageHR or similar HR systems
  • Previous experience supporting recruitment and onboarding processes
  • Understanding of HR policies, procedures and employment practices

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Act as an initial point of contact for managers and employees on a range of HR queries, providing support on matters including annual leave, sickness absence, special leave and performance management.
  • Assist with the end-to-end recruitment process, including preparing job vacancies, collating applications, arranging interviews, obtaining references and supporting the offer process.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees from start to finish.
  • Maintain and update the HR system, ensuring employee information is accurate and up to date.
  • Process starters and leavers and prepare contracts, variation letters and other HR documentation as required.
  • Maintain electronic HR filing systems, ensuring records are accurate, secure and compliant with data protection requirements.
  • Support the management of employee attendance, including absence reporting, return-to-work meetings and sickness review meetings.
  • Provide administrative support for Health & Safety activities relating to employees, including risk assessments where required.
  • Support the Practice Manager with the maintenance and development of HR policies and procedures and ensure the staff handbook remains up to date.
  • Assist with twice-yearly appraisals and the coordination of internal training events.
  • Carry out any other reasonable HR and administrative duties as required.
