Job Description
HR & Finance Administrative Assistant
Location: Newham, East London
Hours: Term Time Only (39 Weeks)
Salary: Competitive - Dependent on Experience
Join Our Support Team
The Role- Support the school's recruitment process, including advertising vacancies, arranging interviews and obtaining references.
- Assist with staff onboarding, inductions and safer recruitment compliance, including maintaining the Single Central Record and DBS documentation.
- Maintain accurate personnel records, staff absence records and HR databases.
- Provide administrative support for payroll changes, workforce census returns and HR reporting.
- Assist with Early Career Teacher (ECT) administration.
- Respond professionally to HR enquiries from staff.
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the finance team and School Business Manager.
- Produce reports, maintain filing systems and support data management.
- Assist with GDPR compliance and support the school's Data Protection Officer.
- Work collaboratively across the Business Support Team to ensure efficient school operations.
- Previous experience in an HR, finance or administrative role.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong ICT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A professional, confidential and approachable manner.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively as part of a team.
- Experience of working within a school environment, HR systems or finance administration would be advantageous but is not essential.
