Sheffield United Football Club are looking to appoint an HR Advisor to provide professional and proactive HR support across the Club, including the Boys' Academy and Women & Girls teams.
The role will provide trusted HR advice to managers and colleagues across a broad range of people matters, with particular responsibility for employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence cases. Working as part of the wider HR team, the successful candidate will also contribute to safer recruitment, safeguarding, wellbeing, EDI and Health and Safety, ensuring people practices are aligned with employment legislation, football regulations and Club policies.
We are looking for an HR professional who can balance sound employee relations practice with a practical, commercially focused approach, building strong relationships with stakeholders and providing clear, confident advice in a varied and fast-moving environment.
Role Responsibilities- Manage and advise on casework including disciplinary, grievance, and performance issues, ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation.
- Support the wider HR team in the development, update, and implementation of company HR policies in line with evolving UK employment laws.
- Support line managers with the hiring lifecycle including adherence to a safer recruitment process and probation reviews.
- Monitor and manage sickness and long-term absences, facilitating occupational health referrals and return-to-work meetings.
- Support and guide Line Managers on best practices for handling people management challenges and or performance issues.
- Support the HR service centre to maintain accurate records of essential HR data.
- Support the annual safe to operate and safeguarding audits ensuring all relevant required fields within the SCR are complete and up to date.
- Support the delivery of the club wide wellbeing programme.
- Adhere to all Sheffield United Football Club's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to foster an environment which protects from harm those defined as children and adults at risk.
- Report any concerns of a Safeguarding nature to the relevant parties and remain fully compliant with any applicable Safeguarding checks and due diligence and recognise your responsibility to the Club's Safeguarding agenda.
- Report any concerns of discrimination to the relevant parties and promote a welcoming and inclusive club environment for all.
- Adhere to the Club's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies, supporting the Club to create an environment which is inclusive and all-encompassing.
- Carry out and actively participate in all training requests as directed by the Club, including mandatory health and safety training, emergency procedures, fire safety, manual handling, safeguarding, and role specific safety instruction.
- Any other reasonable requests as directed by management.
- CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent hands-on generalist HR experience.
- Strong, up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including, coaching, training and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Valid UK Driver's License.
- Completion of an Enhanced DBS Check upon offer acceptance.
