Job Description

Are you a confident leader with a passion for delivering excellent service? Somerset Passenger Solutions is looking for aLead Supervisor to join our on-site team at Hinkley Point C. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects.

What You'll Do

As a Lead Supervisor, you'll be the link between frontline teams and management, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while supporting and motivating staff to maintain high standards of safety and service. You will be responsible for ensuring even distribution and rotation of workloads within the team, whilst working closely and providing necessary support and assistant to drivers and supervisors to maintain exceptional standards of customer service.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage on-site operations across SPS and HPC locations
  • To always follow and be a champion of health & safety and security guidelines and procedures, whilst ensuring drivers comply with the expected standards and leading by example
  • To ensure all safety accidents/incidents are reported using the Company's reporting procedure.
  • To ensure compliance with the rules governing driving hours and rest periods for PCV/PSV drivers (Domestic and EC Rules) and the Working Time Directive
  • Complete checks that ensure all drivers hold valid CPC cards and licences
  • Resolve passenger queries and service issues
  • Coordinate shift handovers and staff coverage
  • Act as Duty Manager in their absence
  • Supervise and support drivers and supervisors
  • Monitor vehicle allocation and update systems (U-Track)
Qualifications/ knowledge Essential skills:
  • Health and safety knowledge
  • Banksman trained (training can be provided)
  • PCV licence holder
  • Driving licence
  • First aid trained
  • CSCS (training can be provided)
Skills and Experience Essential skills:
  • Experience in delivering a high level of customer service and dealing with customer complaints
  • Good understanding of IT
  • Supervisory experience
