A busy family in St Johns Wood are looking for an experienced and proactive Houseman to join their fully staffed household team. Working within a large residence, you will provide practical support across all aspects of the property, ensuring the home, gardens, vehicles, and household operations run smoothly on a daily basis. This is a varied and hands on role that would suit someone who enjoys being busy, takes pride in their work, and is happy turning their hand to whatever is required. The principals are a high profile family who value professionalism, discretion, and a positive attitude. They are down to earth employers seeking a reliable and hardworking individual who will become a trusted member of their household team.
Key Responsibilities- Providing general hands on support throughout the household
- Assisting with the day to day running and maintenance of the property
- Carrying out basic DIY and minor repairs
- Moving furniture, deliveries, and household items as required
- Overseeing contractors and reporting maintenance issues
- General property checks to ensure the home remains in excellent condition
- Supporting with gardening and outdoor maintenance
- Driving family members when required
- Vehicle care, cleaning, refuelling, and arranging servicing/MOTs
- Running household errands and collecting deliveries
- Assisting with household set ups, events, and ad hoc projects
- Supporting the wider household team wherever required
- Preparing simple meals or light cooking when needed
- Assisting with the care and exercise of the family's dogs
- Strong practical and DIY skills
- Comfortable undertaking manual handling and heavy lifting
- Confident driver with a clean driving licence
- Comfortable around dogs and happy to assist with their care on occasion
- Basic gardening knowledge and willingness to support outdoor maintenance
- Flexible, proactive, and solutions focused
