Housekeeping/ Laundry Assistant - Colchester

At Foxburrow Grange, our specialist nursing and dementia home in Colchester, we always aim for a positive experience for the people we support and the housekeeping team is a vital part of ensuring that we maintain a high quality environment for our residents and their families to enjoy.

We are looking for Housekeepers/Laundry Assistants with good communication skills who will work flexibly as part of a small team in order to meet the needs of the service and our residents.

You should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the home environment for our residents and engage with them sensitively and with dignity.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine scheduled cleaning and general housekeeping and laundry tasks to ensure a high standard of cleanliness within the home.
• Work a shift pattern that includes working every other weekend to cover shifts as part of the housekeeping team.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the home environment for residents and engage with residents sensitively and with dignity.
• Perform additional housekeeping duties as required to maintain the quality of the environment.

Qualifications

• Good communication and listening skills are essential.
• Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team.
• Motivated, enthusiastic and able to build positive relationships.
• Good basic written, verbal and numeracy skills.
• Good basic IT skills.
• Experience in housekeeping or a similar environment is an advantage, but full training will be provided for transferable skills.
