Main duties of the job

Avery Healthcare seeks a Housekeeping Assistant dedicated to upholding the highest cleanliness and operational standards at Springwood Corner Care Home in Gravesend. In this role you will work as part of a team, follow our standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, and ensure hotel service quality standards are maintained.

• Carry out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
• Understand the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials to keep all areas well presented.
• Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect, and that their personal space and belongings are always respected.
• Operate the laundry according to established procedures and meet laundry production targets.
• Adapt to a range of responsibilities at short notice, covering other duties as required.

About you

• Knowledge of Health and Safety, with particular emphasis on Moving and Handling, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Experience cleaning laundry in a public setting.
• Demonstrated compassion and commitment to delivering high quality housekeeping and laundry services to residents.
• Ability to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
