Salary: £25 per hour

Hours Required: Three days per week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, around 25 hours per week). The family are flexible regarding the daily working hours and are happy to agree a schedule that works well for the right candidate. They would also appreciate someone who can occasionally offer flexibility with working hours or provide pet sitting, including overnight care or some weekend cover, by prior agreement when they are away (to be negotiated separately).

Start Date: Mid-September 2026

Overview

A professional couple based in Bracknell are looking to appoint an experienced Housekeeper with Dog Care to support the smooth running of their home.

This is a varied role combining housekeeping, dog care and household administration. Providing exceptional care for the family's Labrador is the highest priority within the role, so they are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys dogs and understands the importance of attentive, reliable pet care.

Alongside caring for the dog, you will take responsibility for maintaining the home to a high standard and assisting with a range of household administrative tasks. The family are looking for someone they can trust completely, who is proactive, organised and enjoys taking ownership of their work. They hope to find someone looking for a long-term position who will become a valued part of their household.

Key Responsibilities Dog Care
  • Provide attentive daily care and companionship for the family's Labrador.
  • Walk, feed and care for the dog throughout the working day.
  • Attend veterinary appointments when required.
  • Provide occasional pet sitting, including overnight care or some weekend cover, by prior agreement when the family are away.
Housekeeping
  • Full cleaning and care of the family's home to a consistently high standard.
  • Laundry and arranging dry cleaning.
  • Bed changing and wardrobe management
  • Food shopping, unpacking deliveries and ensuring household essentials are well stocked.
  • General organisation of the home.
  • Taking pride in maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming household.
Household Administration
  • Assist with household bills and general household administration.
  • Arrange household maintenance, including coordinating tradespeople when required.
  • Organise birthday gifts and other personal errands.
  • Assist with occasional travel planning.
  • Help ensure the household runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working in a similar private household role.
  • A genuine love of dogs together with practical experience caring for them.
  • Excellent housekeeping skills with high standards of organisation.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A trustworthy, honest and discreet nature.
  • A flexible approach, including being happy to provide occasional pet sitting by prior agreement when the family are away.
  • A full driving licence.
