HMO Licensing Manager

We are seeking an experienced HMO Licensing Manager to play a crucial role in ensuring that properties across our lettings portfolio meet all licensing requirements. This position involves auditing properties, liaising with teams and tenants, and overseeing safety checks and remedial works to ensure compliance.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Audit properties to identify licensing needs and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Coordinate safety checks and certifications to maintain property standards.
  • Manage a small team of Property Managers, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
  • Liaise effectively with tenants and contractors to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Oversee remedial works and post-maintenance inspections to ensure high-quality standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors to manage maintenance and repair issues efficiently.
  • Handle deposit returns in line with regulations and manage rental arrears and dispute resolutions.
  • Instruct eviction requests where necessary, ensuring all processes are compliant with legal standards.
  • Monitor and support team performance through regular one-to-ones, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A clear understanding of HMO licensing requirements and processes.
  • Proven experience in delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills to effectively manage workload and maintain high standards.
  • Experience in managing teams and working collaboratively with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using property management platforms like Qube is advantageous; training will be provided if necessary.
