HIS3364 General Duties Operator - Drax Power Station

A vacancy has arisen for a General Duties Operator to join our team at Drax Power Station.

This is a hands on role responsible for effective unloading, loading and movement of materials around the Drax Materials handling areas.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Operations Supervisor in all operational activities
• Conduct inspections of the sediment tanks
• Conduct inspections of bundled areas and rectify issues
• Locate and identify issues with the plant in conjunction with the control operator
• Be flexible and prepared to cover operational activities where required
• Undertake any training required to maintain site operation in a safe manner
• Conduct inspection of work areas and carry out a POWRA as set out in the safe working procedures for the task
• Attend all site/HIS safety meetings/briefings and read and understand all safety and site relevant information
• Follow, promote and report any activity that deviates from site operational rules (e.g., speeding, crossings)

Qualifications and Skills

• A strong team player
• Ability to work independently and on own initiative
• Good time keeping and willingness to work overtime as necessary
• Good communication skills, both with colleagues, other contractors and clients
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Must be able to populate, use and keep documented records as part of the role
• Passport to Safety
