Axcis Education is partnering with a mainstream primary school in Ormskirk to recruit a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) on a temp to permanent basis. The position is full time, Monday to Friday, 27.5 hours per week, with initial supply weeks through Axcis before joining the school permanently.
Role and Responsibilities- Support the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities.
- Lead small group and individual sessions within the unit.
- Use Intensive Interaction techniques to support communication development.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Support pupils with sensory, communication, and emotional needs.
- Holds HLTA status or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge and experience of SEND, particularly complex needs.
- Practical experience using Intensive Interaction.
- Confident working with pre verbal children.
- Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
- Team player capable of taking initiative.
Pay starts from £15.50 per hour and is negotiable based on qualification and experience. An enhanced DBS on the update service is required; Axcis can assist with DBS application if needed.
