Job Description

POSITION: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
PAY: Up to £32,000
CONTRACT: Full Time Permanent
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday
START DATE: ASAP
LOCATION: Bexley- East London

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our Good mainstream primary school. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to enhance pupils' learning by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities within an established system of supervision. This will include planning, preparing and delivering learning opportunities for individuals, small groups, and, when required, whole classes.

Working under the guidance of school leaders and class teachers, you will support high-quality teaching and learning in line with school policies and best practice. The role also involves monitoring pupils' progress, behaviour and attendance, and contributing to assessment, recording and reporting processes.

As an HLTA, you will play an important role in promoting inclusion across the school. You may also support pupils with reintegration into class routines and learning, helping them to access the curriculum successfully and thrive within our school community.

About the role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Supporting and delivering lessons to primary age students (across EYFS-Y6)
Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons
Promote positive behaviour management and emotional well-being
Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure pupil success
Safeguard pupils and maintain a nurturing learning environment
Full-time & Long-Term contract

Primary School located in Bexley- East London

The ideal candidate: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Must have HLTA qualification with a minimum of 6 months experience teaching the UK national curriculum
Understanding of behaviour management and differentiated learning techniques
Calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting pupils
Confident working collaboratively with teachers and support staff
Reliable, enthusiastic, and committed to helping every child achieve their potential
