HGV Class 1 Drivers

Location: Kettering / Thrapston
Pay: £18.00 Days / £19.50 Nights / £21 Sat / £22 Sun

The Role

• Average shift length: 10-12 hours
• 7-day operation (working week runs Sunday to Saturday)
• AM shifts: typically start between 05:00-07:00
• PM shifts: typically start between 16:00-19:00
• Average of 2 drops per shift, plus collections
• Curtain-sided vehicles - Will involve some handballing

Delivery area spans:
North: up to Mansfield
West: Wednesbury
South: as far as Thatcham
East: as far as Lowestoft

• Delivering cardboard packaging products

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate and drive HGV 1 (C E) vehicles to transport goods to designated locations
• Plan routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure road worthiness
• Adhere to all relevant traffic laws and regulations
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and logistics team members
• Shifts are booked daily with shift confirmation times texted to you the day before

Requirements

• Valid HGV 1 C E licence
• Up-to-date Tacho Digi Card and an up-to-date DCPC Card
• Min 12 months HGV Class 1 C E experience
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• We will accept up to 6 points on your licence, but no DD, TT, DR, CD, IN endorsements.
