Job Description - HGV Mechanic at Pye Commercials Preston
We are looking for a qualified, time served and experienced Heavy Goods Vehicle technician to inspect, repair and service all makes of HGVs and trailers.
We expect the successful candidate to be qualified to level 3 in HGV maintenance and to have at least three years post apprenticeship experience working in a vehicle workshop. He or she should be computer literate, have experience with vehicle diagnostics and have a good command of English and maths. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative are essential. Having a HGV driving licence and experience of welding would be of advantage but not essential. He or she should be enthusiastic and have a genuine interest in vehicles with the ability to adapt to all types of work associated with HGVs and to have a pleasant but professional manner when dealing with customers.

An initial salary of between £45,000 and £50,000 depending on hours worked is offered and this will rise up to £55,000 after a successful three month trial period.
Hours are 8.30 am to 6pm with half hour for lunch plus morning and afternoon breaks.
Work is also available on Saturday mornings between 8.30 am and 12.30 pm
The job will become permanent after the completion of the trial period.
