HGV Mechanic

Hunters 4 Staff are working with a well-established transport and fleet business in Sheffield who are looking to bring in an experienced HGV Mechanic with DAF experience. This is a hands-on role working as part of a solid team, keeping a varied fleet running safely and efficiently.

Sheffield (S3)
Up to £70,000 per year (depending on experience)
Permanent Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:00pm + Saturday rota (7:00am-12:00pm)
Hunters 4 Staff are working with a well-established transport and fleet business in Sheffield who are looking to bring in an experienced HGV Mechanic with DAF experience. This is a hands-on role working as part of a solid team, keeping a varied fleet running safely and efficiently.

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out maintenance and repairs on a mixed fleet (DAF skip trucks, tippers, artic units, grab vehicles, vans and more)
• Preparing and presenting vehicles for MOT (S3 Sheffield site)
• Diagnosing faults using diagnostic equipment and completing effective repairs
• Completing routine inspections in line with O Licence requirements
• Attending breakdowns when required
• Completing paperwork, job cards and supporting the wider team when needed

What we're looking for

• At least 2 years' experience as an HGV Mechanic
• Experience working with DAF vehicles
• Confident using diagnostic software and fault-finding tools
• HGV inspection experience (minimum 1 year)
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) preferred
• Class 1 or 2 HGV licence and Driver CPC (preferred)
